Procurement Specialist

Location:  Alberta OR Manitoba (Permanent, Full-Time)

Our client is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support procurement and sourcing operations across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys end-to-end ownership of the procurement cycle and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating procurement activities from sourcing to contract support, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services, managing vendor relationships, and supporting field operations across Canada and the US.


This is a remote position, however occasional travel to office locations, project sites, and supplier offices is expected.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services across multiple business units and project sites throughout Canada and the US.
  • Review project specifications and prepare procurement packages (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs) for distribution to vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, assist in bid analysis, and provide recommendations based on cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Support contract negotiations and facilitate purchase order issuance and amendments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field personnel to align procurement schedules with critical project timelines.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track deliveries, and address any issues related to material shortages, delays, or quality concerns.
  • Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors for both technical and commercial queries.
  • Maintain accurate records, procurement documentation, and audit-ready files in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes, vendor management, and cost savings strategies.


Key Skills and Qualifications Include:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, ideally within construction, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, or Supply Chain Management.
  • SCMP designation is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of sourcing strategies, contract administration, and supplier evaluation techniques.
  • Proven ability to stay accountable and agile in fast-paced, dynamic environments while effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and represent the company with professionalism.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or procurement systems is a strong asset.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (cross-border) as needed.
